Film index A to Z

City Dreamers

They worked with Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and many more. They have decades of experience, and they were pioneers in their field. As women, their careers have not been without obstacles. You may not have heard of the architects Phyllis Lambert, Blanche Lemco van Ginkel, Cornelia Hahn Oberlander and Denise Scott Brown, but City Dreamers will help you get to know them. Through interviews and archival footage, Joseph Hillel takes us inside the fascinating world of these extraordinary creators. The film is an invitation to rethink the city with women who have devoted their lives to improving our environment, and who continue to share their knowledge and warn us about the pitfalls of urban design.
