VISIONS, the experimental-documentary screening series, presents the works of Mexican collective Colectivo Los Ingrávidos. Feminist and avant-garde, the collective exists to dismantle the audiovisual grammar of aesthetic corporativism. Los Ingrávidos attack the audiovisual ideology by which social and perceptive control is maintained over the majority of the population. The collective appropriates various sources to plumb the depths of the collective imagi- nation: archival images, Aztec mythology, hand- developped 16 mm film, street protests, revolutionary poetry.

The Sun Quartet is a solar composition in four movements. A sun stone where youth blooms in protest; a river overflowing the streets; the burning plain rising in the city; and, finally, the clamour of the people that shook Mexico after the night of September 26, 2014. The disappearance of 43 students from Ayotzinapa opened a breach in the Mexican political body.
