CMQ 2020 Talent Lab call for applications!

Forum RIDM

Is launching its call for applications for the 7th edition of the TALENT LAB

Montreal, Wednesday, August 26, 2020 - The Forum RIDM, which will take place from November 12 to 19, is pleased to launch the call for applications for the 7th edition of the Talent Lab, presented by NETFLIX. Candidates are invited to submit their project from August 26 to September 30. This edition will see more than 15 emerging filmmakers participate in this documentary laboratory in the presence of artists and experts from the programming of the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) and the RIDM Forum.

The Forum RIDM Talent Lab is a closed-circuit talent lab for 15 emerging Canadian artists from all backgrounds and origins. The program revolves around the creative process and the documentary language of the participants and offers mentoring adapted to each participant's needs.

The Talent Lab will take place this year overfour half-days from Saturday, November 14 to Tuesday, November 17, 2020. During these four days, participants will benefit from master classes and discussions with creative experts from the documentary industry. Participants will also benefit from all the activities organized during the Forum RIDM.

The partnership with NETFLIX supports the Forum RIDM Talent Lab in its mission to develop the next generation of Canadian documentary talent. This partnership gives us the opportunity to enhance individual and group coaching, and also allows us to invite big names in international documentary to exchange with our participants virtually.

As part of the Talent Lab, four prizes in the form of services and support will be awarded to the winning participants from our partners CANAL D, ONF, NFB and CINEGROUND.
