Je ne me souviens de rien

The Arab Spring bursts out of Tunisia, and filmmaker Diane Sara Bouzgarrou finds herself completely inspired – but unbeknownst to her, she is experiencing her first bipolar manic episode. Bouzgarrou starts to film her jubilant highs and long bouts of creative insomnia, accumulating an archive of very vulnerable moments while in the throes of her undiagnosed disease. Months later, after a clinical stay in which Bouzgarrou comes to terms with her illness, all she has left of her manic period are hours of footage from this moment that has completely disappeared from her memory. In this intense personal film, she pieces together those lost months as a visual diary and a deeply honest portrayal of bipolar disorder. (SM)
