Tan Pin Pin: Alternative Singapore Chronicles

IN TIME TO COME Tan Pin Pin

Film index A to Z

In the same vein as Snow City, this latest film by Tan Pin Pin cuts to the heart of certain ordinary daily rituals in Singapore, from school ceremonies to the opening protocols for stores in shopping malls. The gently ironic repetition of shots, combined with the discovery and creation of time capsules aimed at preserving the artifacts of an era, questions the strangeness of a country that seems to live in a present frozen in time.
