Retrospective: Animating Reality

200 000 fantômes Jean-Gabriel Périot

Film index A to Z

Nijuman no borei

Composed entirely of photographs superimposed on one another, exchanging references across eras, this film by Jean-Gabriel Périot (Une jeunesse allemande, RIDM 2015) is a vibrant homage to one of the worst tragedies of the 20th century: the bombing of Hiroshima.

Presented in collaboration with the Sommets du cinéma d'animation, the Cinémathèque québécoise, the Département d'histoire de l'art et d'études cinématographiques de l'Université de Montréal and the Observatoire du cinéma au Québec
