Where Truth Lies: Opening Breakfast

Activities and Events

Documentary film’s representation of reality has always divided affinities: if documentary is an artform, its idea of truth rarely complies with the tenets of journalistic rigour. Truth, it seems, is different from Reality: be it in the treatment, the edit suite, in the field, or across documentary’s multiplying platforms. DCM’s 2016 Opening Keynote tackles the idea of Documentary Truth face on, with a constellation of different creators discussing the fine but perplexingly infinite line between journalistic truth and documentary reality.

John Cardellino | Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program

SPEAKERS
